Aurora Feint 3

The Story

You awake in the woods. You don't exactly remember why you're here or where you were before. It's a bright place. White as far as you can see. Beautiful really. It teems with life in the hills, mountains, trees, earth, and rocks. You observe the large oaks surrounding would make great cover if you were attacked. It seems too peaceful to worry about that though.

Hours pass, yet you found yourself hanging around that same spot all day. You notice shining crystals jutting from some of the trees. Looking closer, you also see what appears to be deep marks cut into the trees. Something about one of the trees and its crystals draws you towards it…

Chapter 1

Between the large oaks, the snow covering the forest floor reflects the moonlight. Off in the distance you notice patches of darkness in the landscape, not glowing colors. Slowly all the crystal trees around you begin to dim and turn dark. There are shadows moving and leaping between the treetops! They look like birds... or cats... or rabbits?

What are these dark beasts leaping back and forth around the trees? Why only the blue trees? The blue crystals on the tree you're nearby are still glowing. You step out from under the canopy cover and suddenly find yourself surrounded by monstrous shapes speaking to each other in a incomprehensible tongue. The voices sound curious. Evil. Your heart starts pounding. One brandishes a sword and lunges at you...

Chapter 2

The battle seems to be over…for the moment. The other beasts leapt away after you defeated the first. During your rest you notice that each crystal tree has a different color. And those buzzing things are just little flying orbs of light. Odd as they are, they never move away from their crystal. On second thought, maybe they are part of the crystal some how.

As day turns to night, the crystals and their buzzing lights cause the nightscape to glow an amazing array of colors. You start to wonder what the crystals are there for. Turning to the tree you're standing under, you reach past the lights and touch a glowing yellow crystal. It sends a current up your arm. An electric... crystal?
